SUPREMACY to Premiere at LA Film Fest

An update to a project we first alerted you to just over 2 years ago, in February 2012…

It’ll make its world premiere at the Los Angeles Film Festival, which runs from June 11 to June 19, in the LA Muse (11) section, curated by Film Independent at LACMA curator Elvis Mitchell and artist/scholar Roya Rastegar.

Danny Glover stars in the indie feature titled Supremacy, based on a true story about a recently-paroled white supremacist who, after killing a police officer, takes an African American family hostage.

The film is directed by Deon Taylor, whose most recent and maybe most prominent work was the 2010 indie horror/thriller titled Chain Letter.

Joe Anderson (The Grey, The River), Dawn Olivieri (she plays Don Cheadle’s ex-wife on Showtime’s House Of Lies), Derek Luke, Evan Ross, Lela Rochon, Mahershala Ali and Anson Mount, best known from the AMC series Hell On Wheels, round out the key cast.

International film sales company Exchange, boarded the project last year, taking it to the 2013 Cannes Market (Marché du Film), to sell it to distributors around the world.

“I am very proud to introduce this powerful new movie to the buyers in Cannes […] Deon made a great film with standout performances. Supremacy is exciting, intense and most importantly its based on true events which makes this movie very marketable,” said Brian O’Shea, chief at Exchange.

Deon Taylor added: “This is a very special film, and I truly believe audiences will be memorized by the performances.”

Still no word on an official release, although IMDB says it’ll be out some time this year. But if you’ll be in Los Angeles next month, see it at the LAFF before everyone else does.
