This suspenseful thriller features Greg Kinnear as Mickey Prohaska, a duplicitous insurance agent looking for a way to jump-start his business, reunite with his estranged wife (THOMPSON), and escape the bone chilling Midwestern winter. A white-collar conman, he believes that salesmanship is all about crafting a story and finding someone dumb enough to buy it. He finds just such a man in a lonely, retired farmer (ARKIN), who unknowingly has something much bigger to offer than an insurance commission: a rare and valuable violin. When Mickey attempts to con the old man with the help of an unstable locksmith (CRUDUP), his plan spins wildly out of control. He is trapped in a web of deceit and becomes the victim of the dangerous game he has been playing.
